NCS Product Synopsis
Update: August 07, 2003 «©NCSX» The third game in the Summon Night brand continues and expands on themes seen in the earlier two volumes. Players act the part of a tutor to a young pupil who seeks entrance to a military school and the two take a boat trip to the main province for an exam. A pirate attack wrecks their plans and a storm blows up which magically teleports the two main characters into a strange land. As the protag wakes up, he finds himself and his charge on a deserted beach but soon fights to fend off an animal who appears to have mistaken them for the midday meal...
The Summon Night franchise has been influenced somewhat by the Pokemon effect and players summon creatures and beasts to fight on their behalf. Exotic monsters and more mundane ones may be summoned to do battle against aggressors. Similar to the GBA One Piece Nanatusima no Daihihou game, a treasure chest may be opened on each battlefield where Summon Stones are housed. The stones are used in the world of Summon Night 3 to forge new summon spells which call forth fierce and exciting creatures or cause various magic effects to pop during an encounter.
Similar to previous incarnations, players do tactical battle in 3-D isometric environments which may be rotated 360 degrees. There's a movement phase, an action phase and then a waiting phase as you watch opponents go through their own phases.
