NCS Product Update
Update: July 06, 2010
«©NCSX» The twelfth SFX Revoltech toy pays homage to the most formidable member of the Lepidoptera order in recorded history - Mothra. It's pronounced "Maw-soo-rah" if you're Japanese. Toho Studios released the Mothra film in the summer of 1961 and movie-goers were treated to the theatrics of a vengeful oversized insect who went on a mission to rescue two little beauties from Infant Island. The tiny beauties were played by a pair of singers who called themselves "Peanuts." In a scene towards the close, Mothra's metamorphosis from cocoon to moth is completed at Tokyo Tower and it is there that she goes on a wing-flapping rampage.
The Revoltech toy rendition of Mothra as sculpted by Kinoshita Takashi features a 195mm (7.67") wingspan and 13 joints which allow for leg movement and wing adjustments. Revoltech Mothra's six legs can be maneuvered and manipulated independently of each other. A prop of Tokyo Tower is also included in the toy packaging so that film fans (with a lot of time on their hands) can recreate scenes from the Mothra movie or create new footage for the Youtube generation.
