NCS Product Synopsis
Update: March 30, 2006
«©NCSX» Train Heartnet is an elite assassin turned bounty hunter who carries a gun known as Hades. When Train was an assassin for the secretive Chronos cabal, he earned the nickname of Black Cat because he was bad luck for anyone that he targeted.
The PS2 Black Cat game features an original story where Train and Eve are the main characters. Eve is a teenager who has been gifted with injected nanotechnology which allows her to manifest weapons from her body parts and grow lily white wings. The game features 3D exploration, character interaction, as well as point 'n click shooting action when enemies are encountered. Train may insert three types of bullets into Hades which have different effects while Eve can transform her arms into various weapons.
Black Cat features a Scenario Mode where Train or Eve accept a mission and plow through an original plot where scenarios change depending on the actions of the player. Supporting cast members are interacted with, events are triggered, and battles are entered into where a simple menu system allows Train or Eve to blast away at goons and henchmen.

NCS Game Notes
* At the outset of the game, Train Heartnet, Eve, and Sven Vollfied are motoring to an assignment in a vehicle. Sven sits in the driver's seat and Train's in the passenger side.
* Train's blue jacket looks like it has four donuts hanging from the front. Soon after entering town, two scoundrels attack a guy in a green jacket and Train steps in to intervene. It's time for gunplay. Watch the target cues appear on the screen and wait for them to turn blue or red on top of a goon's body. Blue means a hit and red means critical hit. As the cue drops on a body part, press the "O-Button" to shoot and you'll connect. After Train attacks, its time for the two goons to attack. To dodge the attack, press the "O-Button" immediately after the exclamation mark cue appears to the upper right of the goon and Train will sidestep the attack. Blows from both sides are shown in cel-shaded animation sequences. One guy attacks with a blade and the other has a gun. Battles can take up to 15 minutes to complete if you miss a lot...
* While roaming around town, Train may step up to a home made ice cream shop and greet the gal standing in front. She's carrying two double scoop ice cream cones.
* As Train runs around, his HP slowly recovers by itself without any special intervention on the part of the gamer. He has 60 HP to start. Later, Train and Sven meet up with Eve, Rinslet Walker, and a redhead at Milchcow where they're having drinks. Their reverie is soon interrupted by the two goons from earlier who are none the smarter or better at their attacks and Train has to put them down again. When the goons miss, Train mocks them with an audible sneer. Maybe its because one of the bandits is wearing a bandana and a floral print shirt. After beating them, a gang leader appears with two guns and 75 HP. He wears a red bandana and has purple hair. While imposing looking, we were able to knock him down a peg with 8 shots. If he connects with a bullet, he'll take 20 HP from Train. After being defeated, the gang leader is cocky as ever but he runs away soon afterwards. After the first episode, you're ranked on your performance and given a sweeper rank. You will also get the opportunity to save your progress to memory card.
