«©NCSX» Baseball season is just a few weeks away and the boys of summer will be featured in dozens of games from the USA and Japan over the next couple of months. Here's one of the first ones for 2002. Twelve Japanese professional baseball teams rejoin this year's "real life" as opposed to "big-head" baseball game from Konami. New claims to fame in the 2002 version include faithful reproductions of all twelve pro stadiums and the ability to adjust batting stances and hitting positions at the box. Motion-captured movements also convey a sense of realism as outfielders cavort on screen and runners dash for the plate with heads bowed and legs splayed. They look just like Derek Jeter trying to beat out an infield hit. Japanese television announcer Kawamura Akira relays the play by play in fevered harangue and baseball commentator Horiuchi Tsune offers calmer, insightful commentary on the shenanigans on the field. All 2001 player and team data has been updated and any changes in uniforms from the past year are reflected in the game as well.
